Masterclasses & Collaborations

The Songwriters Club hosts monthly masterclasses and collaborative events featuring industry professionals and student-run Berklee clubs. These events bridge the gap between education and the music industry, all while fostering a collaborative environment among students.

Masterclasses 

Jesse Saint John

Jesse Saint John has written for several notable artists including Britney Spears, Kim Petras, Dorian Electra, Charli XCX, Brooke Candy, and The Neighbourhood. In May 2019, he released his debut EP, Don't Stop Dancing. St. John also co-wrote the Billboard number-one hit "Truth Hurts" by Lizzo.

Pat Pattison

Pat Pattison is a professor at Berklee College of Music, specializing in lyric writing and poetry. He has authored four books: Songwriting Without Boundaries, Writing Better Lyrics, 2nd Edition, The Essential Guide to Lyric Form and Structure, and The Essential Guide to Rhyming. Pat's students include Grammy winners, professional songwriters, and major recording artists such as Gillian Welch, John Mayer, Tom Hambridge, Joelle James, Karmin, American Authors, Betty Who, Justin Tranter, and many more.

Keli Nicole Price

Keli Nicole Price is an award-winning songwriter and vocalist who began her career at 17, touring with Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Aaliyah. She has worked with Elektra Records, Warner Music Group, Sony Records, and more as a lead, backing, and studio vocalist. Quickly adding songwriting to her credentials, she ghostwrote for popular artists and earned her first credits on the Why Do Fools Fall in Love movie soundtrack. Price has since written, arranged, produced, and performed on numerous albums, with credits including Solange Knowles, Rodney Jerkins, Nipsey Hussle, Destiny’s Child, PJ Morton, and Will Smith. She penned the viral TikTok hit "Can't Get Enough" by Tamia and received three Grammy nominations for writing Beyoncé’s No. 1 single “Deja Vu,” which won Best Contemporary R&B Album.

Jonathan Perkins

Jonathan Perkins is a multiplatinum songwriter and producer, and an Emmy Award–winning composer with over 10 million units sold. Some recent credits include the Chainsmokers’ album Memories…Do Not Open, and multiple releases with K-pop sensations BTS, Taemin, and NCT 127. Formerly signed to Orange Factory Music, the production team behind worldwide phenomenon Jay Sean, he was a writer on Sean's smash sensation "Down," featuring Lil Wayne, which went six-times platinum internationally, as well as on Sean’s single “Do You Remember," featuring Sean Paul and Lil Jon, which went two-times platinum. His other credits include Pitbull, Nicki Minaj, Big Time Rush, Frankie J, and Cody Simpson, among others. He attained his first no. 1 on the Billboard Dance Club/Play charts with his work on Jason Nevins’s remix of Rihanna’s "S.O.S."

Analogue Records X Berklee Songwriters Club

Following years of extensive research and firsthand encounters with the archaic and predatory mechanisms prevalent in the music industry, especially within the confines of traditional record labels, Jordan Quin decided to found Analogue Records. Analogue embodies a paradigm shift in the concept of record labels. It is living, breathing change in the functionality of the music industry. Analogue Records is a community of dedicated and diligent professionals united by an unwavering dedication to championing artists’ rights while creating authentic, timeless music.

AudioVerse Lab X Berklee Songwriters Club

AudioVerse Lab is a music tech innovation club at Berklee that explores and promotes the intersection of artificial intelligence, new music tech, and music. The club fosters creativity, collaboration, and innovation among students. The club provides a supportive environment for students to learn about AI technologies, VR, AR, and blockchain, and apply them to music composition, performance, production, and analysis.

Law & Management Group X Berklee Songwriters Club

The purpose of the Law & Management Group is to promote the Entertainment Law and Artist Management professions and utilize their relationship in the music industry. This will be achieved by fostering the importance of knowledge and practical application, thus encouraging interaction among students and other affiliated parties within the music industry.

A&R Group X Berklee Songwriters Club

Berklee A&R Group scouts, develops, showcases, and pitches tomorrow's leading creatives in the music industry. If you are looking for real-world industry experience and a way to grow your network, Berklee A&R Group is the place for you. From pitching to top A&R executives from the world's leading labels to hosting showcases around campus, the club is a small, driven club with a surplus of contacts and opportunities. It is known that success occurs when opportunity meets preparation. That being said, practicing professionalism is prioritized while making impactful connections with industry professionals.

Billboard Hot 100 X Berklee Songwriters Club

The Billboard Hot 100 is a club for artists, producers, writers and anyone interested in making pop hits. Club members collaborate on great tracks through writing camps! The club brings in industry professionals such as top liners, producers and managers to give club members real world insight to guide their music creation. Each year we hose the Berklee Industry Bootcamp which allows students to pitch original music to real A&Rs and labels to get industry feedback and make connections.

Berklee Music Business Club X Berklee Songwriters Club

The purpose of the Berklee Music Business Club is to allow Berklee students to learn about the music business from professionals that are currently working in the industry, to help Berklee students network with music industry professionals, and to create a community that fosters collaboration and engagement between students of all majors!
